| Nelson is a Congo
African Grey parrot, Psittacus
erithacus
He is exceptionally gentle, has a large vocabulary and enjoys destroying anything he can get his beak on. Nellie is strongly bonded with me (Roy) and calls me by name when he want my attention. |

| We adopted Nelson in 1996. He had been well socialized
which made it much easier for him to adapt to new people and to his new
surroundings.
I was able to earn Nelson's trust within a few days of having him in our home. Since then we have become inseparable. He is my constant companion, very devoted and exceptionally gentle with me. |

Nelson will lay on his back playing with toys
for long periods of time.
He learns new things very quickly. With a bit of time and patience, he was taught to say "want to come out" instead of making obnoxious noises. |

| When he is ready to go to bed at night, wants his blanket over his cage and the light out he says "night dog" repeatedly. If you do not pay attention to his request for bed time he will become loud until you comply with his wishes. | ||
